To the Ones who Stuck Around

Here’s to the ones who stuck around.

The ones who were there before.

You saw me at my worst. My Rock Bottom. At my Middle. And now at my Best.

You aren’t just an innocent bystander – you were there with me. Through it all.

I was So Low. You didn’t care. You sat. You listened. You may have even given me advice. You were There.

When times were good, you were There.

When times were bad, you were There.

When I had babies.

When I struggled with addiction.

When I was fighting with my family.

When I was proud of my kid’s accomplishment.

When I had trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

When I had relationship problems.

When I wanted to encourage you & be your light, but was grasping to my own flicker praying it wouldn’t blow out.

Through the THICK of it all.

You Stayed.

Sure, you weren’t Physically There all the time, but you came around. You checked in. You hung out and never let on that anything was wrong with me unless I brought it up and wanted to talk.

You sat. You listened.

I’m Positive you were going through your own shit. I’m positive I listened and maybe even gave you advice. I’m sorry I don’t remember.

But you were There.

And you are Here Now.

I have always wanted to emit Love & Light and I tried SO HARD. I’m sure I was the polar opposite at times, but You Stayed.
